HAIR INSERTION TECHNIQUE

Do you LOVE wigging <G> .... one of the biggest gripes of my beginner
students, is learning how to make those pretty soft waves. They think you HAVE to
add all that hair at once, and it comes out looking like the photo above.
Needless to say, this example was made by my 'insertion' method.
Here's how we do it..... wig your doll using a basic hair line. Next pleat
some black viscose (our fiber of choice) with the TINIEST pleater of all, the 1/4".
This makes great ethnic hair!
After you pleat the hair, and its ALMOST dry, gently peal from pleater, and squish down
waves on a table top. This means take those rigid pleats, and gently 'push' it into
flat waves (see photo to the right). Then let air dry and wig as normal.
After
you have the sides and back done as desired, cut off a few straggler pieces, and 'insert'
- glue them to the front. The object is to look like its all one massive hair job.
In fact, the photo to the right is 3 pieces. One wave on each side of her
face and then the basic wigging.
